Interesting article on how the local post office can be a bank or credit union for its’ customers, but in particular poorer folks who might not be able to get a bank account. It would say people money in bank fees or check cashing fees while helping the Postal Office get on better financial footing. Of course, the check cashing companies would oppose it and spend big money in getting it defeated.
